Dealing with ambiguity in the gospel

I just read a great talk on some of the complexities of discipleship. You should read it too. Simply amazing.

You're right. That talk was great (aside from a few specific examples of then-current-affairs that haven't aged well at all (i.e. birth control)). Boy I'd love to hear more talks like this in General Conference....

Thanks for posting this. It reminds me of things going on in my life at the moment. I really liked what he said about seeking after things that are of good report and praiseworthy even if they are not officially backed by the church.

A few people in my life are currently benefiting from a type of therapy that uses age regression, and some members of their family think it is "of the devil" because it does not function under the power of the priesthood. And that "healing" can ONLY come through the Atonement... Oh man... It seems to me that God, being omnipotent and omnipresent, is involved with a lot more than we realize.

I can think of people I know at each level. It reminds me of something my mom told me once... some people are water skiers and some are deep sea divers. Or in other words some people like to stay on the surface where the sun is shinning and things are clear. And some people like to dive into the depths.
